LASSWADE GYMNASTICS CLUB

VISION STATEMENT

At Lasswade Gymnastics Club we are committed to developing a culture of excellence in providing high quality gymnastics training and competition opportunities in a safe and secure environment. This will be achieved through a broad and well balanced programme combined with high quality coaching in a well resourced facility.

POSITIVE CONDUCT CODE

We expect everyone to be courteous and have agreed to follow this simple code of conduct

LASSWADE IS A HAPPY AND SUCCESSFUL CLUB BECAUSE

  • We always try to listen to others and value what they say
  • We treat each other with consideration
  • We believe everyone has the right to work without being disturbed
  • We remember to display good manners to everyone in the club
  • We are considerate towards other people when moving around the school building
  • Wherever we are in the gym we look after our surroundings and equipment
  • We make the most of all our time in the club and work to the best of our ability
  • Whilst representing the club we behave in a manner that will reflect well upon us all

POSITIVE DISCIPLINE CODE

In promoting a positive atmosphere we reward individuals or groups for achievement, effort and good behaviour.

DISCIPLINARY REFERRAL

Occasionally children may forget our aims to be considerate towards others. We have agreed to try to prevent this happening by:

  • Reminding participants of club aims
  • Warnings
  • Separation from peers or groups
  • Referral to Head Coaches
  • Parents contacted by Head Coaches to discuss the situation
  • Loss of gym time
  • Loss of club membership

If there is no improvement then parents will be contacted by the head coaches. They will be invited to discuss the future behaviour of their child and agree joint strategies for monitoring.

In cases of physical violence, verbal abuse or intentional damage to property, the sequence of actions outlined above will be by-passed and the Head Coaches will contact the parents as a first step. Exclusion of the child from the club may be considered.
